Do you speak French? Do you want to learn Spanish? I have a book to recommend: La Méthode Assimil: Le Nouvel Espagnol Sans Peine. The good thing about this book is that it teaches Spanish by comparing it to French. If you already know French grammar, this book points out the differences so that you don’t need to go through every rule from scratch. Tricks for finding the equivalent Spanish words help you use your current French vocabulary to learn Spanish quicker. This light, compact book contains readings, exercises and cartoons. My copy was revised in 1981 and purchased at the Librairie Champlain in Toronto.
Second language tip: You want to improve your Spanish or French but you don’t have much time due to family and work. Try watching kiddie DVDs with the Spanish/ French sub-titles switched on. Your child likes videos better when you keep him company. Now you can learn something and make him happy too.
Upcoming review: Oh Pure and Radiant Heart by Lydia Millet.
I’ve started a yahoo group for intermediate to advanced speakers and I
thought you might be interested. I think it can be really benificial
to those who are studying castellano. There are vocab lessons,
articles, videos, and some other cool stuff. Check it out:
