“You,” won a short story prize in the national Norma Epstein Foundation competition for Creative Writing, University of Toronto.
Maaja’s first novel, Feeding Frenzy: Curse of the Necromancer, was serialized on Wattpad where it earned a Watty award.

Quirky Mysteries and Tales of Wonder
Maaja Wentz is an award-winning writer of chilling mysteries and quirky speculative fiction. The Wattpad serial, Feeding Frenzy: Curse of the Necromancer, won a Wattpad award and became Maaja’s first novel. The Sequel, Double Dead Magic, is a cold case murder mystery featuring witchy power struggles and a dragon shifter detective.
Maaja’s unusual murder story, “Inside of a Dog,” appeared in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine.
Maaja holds a B. A. in French and English literature, an M.A. in Comparative literature, and a B. ed. She teaches French and works as an elementary school librarian in Toronto, Canada.
